The inevitable privacytech

The year 2023 is likely to be the "Year of Privacy". The conference will explore privacy issues in a world where new laws are coming into force, the tectonic plates of technology are shifting, and there is a growing awareness on the part of consumers of the importance of protecting their privacy in the face of abuse, neglect or ignorance by certain industry players. Sometimes it is seen as a constraint to innovation, sometimes as an opportunity to enhance brand value. Stéphane, privacy and ethics consultant, lecturer in marketing and analytics at Laval University, will discuss the following aspects

- The difference between a legal and ethical approach to privacy - Examples of situations where the thin red line of privacy may be crossed - Actions to be taken to comply with Bill 25 on privacy protection - Privacytech solutions to achieve this effectively
